Honey Bee Hollow Kids was born out of heartfelt conversations between Mimi and the families in her care. These parents often shared how difficult it was to find meaningful weekend activities to enjoy with their children. Recognizing this need, Mimi decided to bring the magic of her classroom into the community, creating a space where the focus is on sensory-rich activities, play-based learning, and genuine bonding.
Our classes are specially geared for children ages one through five, though we are happy to make exceptions for older or younger siblings to ensure families can stay together. We bring all the fun and intentionality of high-quality learning to different locations all over Connecticut. Each session is designed to be a play place where children can learn, discover, and explore at their own pace through thematic play and quality literature.
By prioritizing nature themes and a child-led approach, we provide an environment where social development happens naturally. Children learn to navigate their first friendships and build emotional confidence through shared discovery. At Honey Bee Hollow Kids, we are dedicated to helping parents and children slow down and enjoy the simple, beautiful moments of childhood together.

About Mimi
At the heart of Honey Bee Hollow Kids is Mimi, a professional with over thirty years of experience in the early childhood field. As the owner and operator of her licensed family childcare program in Branford, she has created a nurturing, play-based environment that serves as the foundation for our community classes. Her background is extensive, having served as a nanny, a family childcare provider, and the owner of a large childcare center.
Mimi is a tireless champion for children and providers across the state. She is a founding member and the current coalition leader for the Connecticut Family Child Care Coalition. In this role she specializes in advocating for policies that support the childcare workforce and the well-being of children and families in Connecticut.
Mimi’s professional expertise is deeply enriched by her personal journey as a mother of three and a grandmother. She understands firsthand the joys and the deep desire every parent has to provide the very best for their little ones. This personal perspective is what makes Honey Bee Hollow Kids feel like a true community.
As a lifelong nature and animal lover, Mimi ensures her programs are heavily rooted in the natural world. She believes that teaching children to care for the environment helps them develop empathy and a sense of responsibility.
