Meet Mimi!

Honey Bee Hollow began as a dream to create a gentle, safe space where children are nurtured with the same tenderness and respect as family.

Affectionately known as Mimi—a name given to her by her grandson and adopted by the other children in her care—Mimi brings over thirty years of deep experience to this program, ranging from serving as a nanny and family child care provider to directing a large licensed center for a decade. This journey eventually led back to the intimacy of home-based care, where a smaller, family-focused environment allows every child’s unique spirit to truly be seen.

 

Cultivating Curiosity & Connection.

The approach at Honey Bee Hollow is a thoughtful blend of professional expertise and a personal love for the natural world. With a degree in Early Childhood Education and specialized studies in Waldorf, Montessori, and Reggio Emilia methods, the curriculum is carefully tailored to support every learner. Ongoing training focused on neurodiversity and a future goal of ADHD coaching ensure that the environment remains inclusive and supportive for all. As a proud member of NAEYC and a lifelong nature lover, Mimi roots the daily experience in the beauty of the environment, teaching empathy and responsibility through a connection to the world around us.

Beyond the daily rhythms of the program, there is a deep commitment to the broader community of families and educators. As a founding member and leader of the Connecticut Family Child Care Coalition, Mimi is a tireless advocate for policies that uplift the child care workforce and protect the well-being of families across the state. This dedication is fueled by her own perspective as a mother of three and a grandmother, understanding the profound desire every parent has to provide the very best for their little ones. At Honey Bee Hollow, families are invited to slow down and bond over the simple magic of play within a community that feels like home.
