Circle Time

We'll gather for circle time for an interactive reading of Sophie’s journey. Through expressive storytelling, we will explore emotional literacy—learning to name those big "red" feelings and practicing Sophie’s deep-breathing techniques to help our hearts feel "blue" and calm again.

Themed Toy Zone

Step into Sophie’s world with our curated selection of woodland creatures and natural loose parts. From miniature trees to cozy dens, children can engage in imaginative play that mirrors the soothing power of the great outdoors.

Sensory Play

Explore the "colors of calm" in our sensory bins! We’ll be diving into textures that represent Sophie’s shifting moods—from fiery red textures to the cool, soothing squish of mossy greens and water-inspired blues. It’s a tactile way to process big emotions.

Science Discovery

Mini "Feeling" Volcanoes: We’re turning those big eruptions into a science experiment! Using baking soda and vinegar, children will create their own mini volcanoes. We’ll talk about how our anger can feel like it's "bubbling up" and "overflowing," giving a visual and exciting representation of how emotions move through us.

Creative "Process Art"

Forget the lines—we’re painting with feeling! Using vibrant tempera paints and various tools, children will express their internal weather on paper. This focus on the process rather than the final product builds confidence and provides a safe outlet for emotional expression.

Gross Motor Play

It’s time to move like the wind! Utilizing the wonderful space at Shining Starz Acro-Dance, we’ll practice "active calming." We’ll climb like Sophie climbing her favorite tree and use our gross motor skills to "shake the grumpies out" through guided movement and stretching.

Other activity centers based upon size of the venue.

Families will receive digital extension activities to do at home after the event.
