FAMILY PRESCHOOL-SESSION 1
AUTUMN ADVENTURES
September 7 – October 10
Designed for children ages 2–4 (or any child within that developmental stage), Autumn Adventures is a gentle, play-based preschool experience where young children learn alongside their caregiver through exploration, movement, music, stories, sensory play, and hands-on discovery.
Each week, we’ll explore the wonders of autumn as we watch leaves change color, search for acorns and pinecones, observe squirrels preparing for winter, visit local orchards, and discover the sights, sounds, and textures of the season.
Along the way, we’ll introduce early preschool concepts including colors, shapes, letters, and numbers through songs, games, stories, art, and hands-on activities. Every experience encourages curiosity, language development, early science and math skills, creativity, and social-emotional growth while nurturing a lifelong love of nature.
To extend the learning beyond our weekly class, families will receive simple take-home activities each week that reinforce the concepts we’ve explored together, making it easy to continue learning through play at home.
Location & Schedule Details
Because the outdoors is an important part of our classroom, our meeting location changes each week throughout the Connecticut shoreline. By exploring different parks, beaches, orchards, and natural spaces, children experience the changing seasons firsthand and build meaningful connections between what they learn and the world around them.
Classes meet every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
If rain or severe weather prevents us from meeting outdoors, we’ll reschedule or move to a designated indoor location so our learners and adventurers can continue in a safe, comfortable environment.
A minimum of five enrolled families is required for this season to run.
Additional class days and times may be added based on community interest and enrollment.
